The results weren't great, but they both played really well. Each scored goals, which is fun to see. This was Beth's first tournament - she finally got to play instead of watching her brother. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We've been busy with life. The kids have a four-day weekend. I think they needed a break. They don't go back to school until Tuesday. Andy has been working hard at school. He's enrolling in 9th grade Math next year. It will good to challenge him.&nbsp; He also had to register for his 8th grade elective classes. It was fun to see what he picked.&nbsp;</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Beth has been busy at school - they had their Safety Patrol pizza party last week. They are also planning their field trip to the Dells in May.&nbsp; Both Madison and Dells field trips fall while I'm still working.&nbsp; Bummer.... I wanted to go. She only had music as an elective to register for&nbsp;6th grade. She signed up for band and wants to play the flute. Kind of bummed I sold mine now. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">My work has been crazy. I was down to Madison last week with some students and we're back again this week. We were down at the Capitol&nbsp;last week showcasing our Marketing Research project. It was fun to spend the day on the rotunda. &nbsp; I'm going with the Centurgy group this week - it's&nbsp;a central WI group of government and business leaders who are going down to meet with the Lt. Governor, Governor and Legislators. We get to listen in on these meetings. Will be quite the experience. Also, the Wisconsin Manufacturing Council is having their big event and we get to sit in on that is well.&nbsp; It's an overnight, so Tim will be in charge for a couple of days. Sounds like they are already planning on skipping CCD for that night. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">On top of that, my students are working with three different businesses/organizations with projects for class. I have a lot of balls in the air right now. It makes my job interesting, but sometimes a little crazy. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It is also Birthday Party season. It seems like each kid has had two parties in the last month. At least the presents are getting easier - Gift Cards.&nbsp; </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The basement is finally starting to get worked on. We seemed to have stalled with the electricity. The electrician is coming on Wednesday. Once that is done, we can start the drywall. We really need the extra space. It was nice in the old house when the kids had friends over. Now they take over our house - when the basement is done, we can shove them downstairs. Andy wants to move his room downstairs. Tim isn't thrilled about that, but I can see why Andy wants to. His room doesn't have a lot of privacy with the big windows towards the street. Plus, this would give the kids their own bathroom - something to think about when they have to get ready at the same time next year. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Tim's back is getting better. We celebrated our 18th anniversary last week. We went out to eat to the place he took me on our first date. It was sweet. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Tomorrow brings more soccer practise and skating lessons. Beth's costumes are in for the show. She tried one on last week and will get to see the other one tomorrow. It is always fun to see the girls try on their costumes and get excited about the show. The days of 40 and 50 degree weather have come to an end. Bummer. I sure like this kind of winter.&nbsp; The kids are excited about the snow. They don't know if we are getting 3 or 8 inches. I guess we'll see. <br /><br />We have been busy running kids to various places. Tonight is CCD - much to the excitement (<em>sarcasm</em>) of the kids. I also have to get to a soccer meeting for Beth at the same time.&nbsp; Again - glad for the nice roadways and weather. Beth is annoyed that she can't go to practise but must go to church.&nbsp; I don't foresee a nun in her. <br /><br />I am&nbsp;back to work. Students come on Monday. They give us Friday to get ready - otherwise keeping us busy with training.&nbsp; <br /><br />I've started the annual diet/exercise program. Andy's team made it to the quarter final and then got knocked out.&nbsp; They had a good time and played well.&nbsp; He had a sleepover birthday party afterward. We'll have to get him in a couple of hours.<br /><br />Beth had her first private skate lesson this morning. She will have another hour of lessons this afternoon. She's currently at her first soccer practise. She'll sleep well tonight. <br /><br />I'm exhausted.&nbsp; I need to get my energy level up because this will be my life for the next couple of months.<br /><br />It helps to have the nice weather. We have mid thirties today. It was nice to be home with the family.&nbsp; The craziness starts tonight with Andy's soccer practice. The calendar look like a pen exploded all over it. We have very few nights at home from now until April. It will help the winter go fast. Tim and I were off together yesterday. We had a great day walking around&nbsp;stores, having lunch and watching a movie. I must admit to taking a nap half way through True Grit. The kids are getting good enough to beat us. We have completed another year in our home. Landscaping and a new deck were added this year.&nbsp; <br /><br />Tim and I were married 17 joyful years this year. We have made a wonderful life together and know how lucky we are to have each other. <br /><br />I started my PhD this year. I have had to stop because of Walker - something for another day. However, I feel successful in knowing that I could complete it and was good at it. <br /><br />Beth and I had book club this year - and activity with friends that has been fun and rewarding. <br /><br />Andy turned 13 - which has allowed him to go the the PG-13 movies with friends without a parent. With the icy roads, we canceled.&nbsp; So we are now readjusting our plans. Tim is on 3 - 11 today, so we can spend a morning with him. The kids now want friends over. It should be a relaxing day for me.<br /><br />I finished 11/23/63 by Stephen King this morning. It was a good premise, but he dragged the book out quite a bit. Not really creepy, just really <u>long</u> on detailed historical facts. <br /><br />Beth and I went to use her gift certificate at the nail salon yesterday afternoon. We both have very nice looking hands. We used Andy's gift card at M &amp;C Sports yesterday on a new soccer ball and puck.&nbsp;The dog keeps taking and hiding our pucks. &nbsp;I think all of the gift cards/certificates are now used. They each have money burning a hole in their pocket - something they were going to take care of today at the mall. Guess that will have to wait for another day.<br /><br />We cleaned Beth's room out yesterday. That feels really good. Four bags of stuff/garbage out of her room. She now has room for a desk I had in college. She is really pleased. I love when they "shop" for furniture in the basement - price is right. <br /><br />The ping pong table is still a hit - although the kids made a pact last night to not play me anymore. They can't beat me.&nbsp;&nbsp; Still the champion.&nbsp; :-)&nbsp; I keep telling them they will someday. For those of you who haven't read it, there are some pretty graphic sex and rape scenes. At least one of the other girls was also wigged out with the good Father in the room. We just hope he read the book and knew what was coming. There are a couple yet to come. The kids have school today and then they are off for a week and half.&nbsp; I have to say that it's been stress free so far.<br /><br />I have book club tonight. We're exchanging ornaments. Should be a good time. Being my Kindle broke, I don't have the book finished.&nbsp; Good thing we're just being "merry". <br /><br />Andy has made arrangements to go to a movie with friends on Friday. He is pretty excited to go alone with friends. Tim was a little hesitant -&nbsp;the kid is 13 and he's going with his buddies. The joys of growing up.<br /><br />We have the schedule for Andy's soccer team. Beth's soccer team hasn't send hers out yet. She is playing with the 10-year-old team. The problem is that her friends are on the 11-year-old team. She won't be 11 until the season ends, so she's slated to play with kids in the grade lower. She seems OK with it so far.&nbsp; The party we are going to on Sat. will have a lot of the girls there. I think she will feel more comfortable after playing with the girls. <br /><br />I need to go into town at some point today and pick up a couple bottles of liquor - one for tonight and one for the party on Saturday. Right now I am in my sweats enjoying the peace and quiet. Tim and Andy have some project to make a bird call with the bones. I've boiled them an hour already and the meat is not moving. We ended up eating at the Mint Cafe - somewhere we used to eat when we went shopping as kids. We also did a little shopping. The show was great. It should be a fun afternoon. I checked out the Black Friday sales and there is nothing that turns my crank. Everything has seemed to speed up.It must be the economy - but my classes are going well with most of my students participating and engaged in the discussion.&nbsp; It's not always like that. :-)<br /><br />We have all been hit with colds this weekend. Everyone was in bed by 9 last night and slept 10+ hours.&nbsp; Beth seems to have it the worst. <br /><br />Beth has also grown a lot. None of her clothes fit. We're going to make it a mission to go through her drawers to see what fits, and then make a major shopping spree this afternoon. <br /><br />Packers play at noon. Somehow we have to juggle the game with our shopping. Hopefully, we can get it done during half-time. Beth has embraced shopping, but not for long periods of time. AND only if we are shopping for her. If nothing else, I have a lunch meeting tomorrow by Kohls. The fireworks were awesome. Because of the set up we were really close. Definitely worth the money for entrance fee. <br /><br />Beth and I have tickets to Shrek the Musical in November. For all of those who want to go - we'll be there. We can make plans if you get your tickets.<br /><br />Andy and Tim are counting down until hunting season. Tim is out in the woods as I type putting up the deer stand. Beth and I will be looking for fun stuff to do this fall. Andy spent Friday night with his friend. Beth had a friend sleep over. Andy called Saturday to make arrangements for us to pick him up. His friend's family took him to Rusty's Bar and Grill for lunch. Andy calls Tim from Rusty's and says "Dad, I'm at the bar..."&nbsp; Somehow that sounds wrong coming from your almost teenager. <br /><br />Our weekend didn't turn out as planned. The weather didn't cooperate. We had a cookout instead of going to the fair on Saturday. It did my diet good not to eat my way through the fair. The kids were bummed. They were already planning the fish they were going to win.&nbsp; And they'll have to wait for another year to go on the Gravitron ride.&nbsp; That is a big bummer. They did have a good time playing with their cousins though. <br /><br />We had a wedding shower for one of Tim's cousins yesterday. She is getting married in&nbsp; FL this November. The family realized that most people weren't going to be able to make the wedding so the shower was a quasi reception. It was nice to see his aunts and cousins. <br /><br />Today Tim is working, Beth has a friend over and Andy is lounging. I had a couple papers to finish and laundry to get done. It's a good day off. He'll find out tomorrow if he makes the team. <br /><br />Both kids are excited to start the new year. They have their backpacks all ready to go. I hope they feel the same way when I wake them up at the crack of dawn. <br /><br />I must say, it will be nice to get back into a routine. I made it through week one. Only sixteen more to go!<br /><br />The kids went tubing and water skiing with the Beans this afternoon. They had a blast. Their summer is winding down with a bang. <br /><br />We took Andy to school last night to get his locker, schedule etc. He is set to go. Beth goes next week to drop her school supplies off and see her teacher. <br /><br />We're off to Chicago tomorrow for the Chicago Fire game.&nbsp; We just found out that not only does Andy get to walk on the field at the beginning of the game for the "Ring of Fire", but he also gets to out at half-time for some PK kicks. He's pretty excited. It will be interesting how he feels about it in front of a stadium full of people. <br /><br />The Brookfield Zoo is also on the agenda. We'll have a pretty full day. Beth is excited for the zoo.<br /><br />If you want to watch the game, you can find it free streaming online. The game starts at 7:30, so Andy will be walking out before then. They had a great time last week with Grandma and Grandpa.&nbsp; There doesn't seem to be a detox, but both are still in their PJs and it is noon. I think Grandma and Grandpa wore them out. Andy almost got a muskie - that was the big joke at the supper table last night. <br /><br />I'm hoping to go to "The Help"movie tonight with my Book Club. It all hinges on Tim getting off of work so there is someone home with the kids. It didn't help that Tim had to work a lot this summer or we were on vacation. But, now that we are finally home, we are making significant progress. We should be done with the dirt today and then can think about the concrete. <br /><br />Dad - the deck is 16' X 22'.&nbsp; <br /><br />Our landscaping is in and it will look a lot better next year. I wasn't anticipating the bushes and flowers looking so small. It is nice to get Phase I done on that. Phase II (side of house and around back) will happen next year when the patio is done.&nbsp; <br /><br />Beth's poison ivy on her face is gone. She looks her sweet self again. Her friends have been coming and going on vacation, so she is excited to be able to have a friend back in the neighborhood. <br /><br />Andy and I went to the bookstore to get each kid a book and magazine&nbsp;for up north. I had Andy get the Mad Magazine - I think I was his age when I used to get it for vacation. He is thoroughly enjoying it and will have it read before he leaves on Monday. <br /><br />I am counting down the days of my summer vacation. I am having a hard time doing my schoolwork, because I want to soak up as much relaxation as I can. It was 90&nbsp;degrees in the stadium.&nbsp; Andy was in heaven. Beth didn't seem too impressed. I think she liked the bam bams&nbsp; and other noise makers that they gave us on the way in. Some of the team got there late and didn't get all of the give aways. The give aways made the experience much more fun. Beth also liked the boats in the lake - we had a beautiful view of the lake in our nose bleed seats. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">A couple of things we learned on this trip to Chicago:</div><ul><li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Tim still hates driving in the city and will no way live in one.The kids agreed after being stuck in traffic for an hour on the way in. </div></li><li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We are not a road trip kind of family. Ten hours in the car had us all crabby by 11:00 last night when we pulled in.However, the kids did great in the car for so long. I'm thinking the money spent on the ipod touches was worth it. </div></li><li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We liked watching the soccer game and Andy is super excited to go to the next one. The team will get to walk on the field during the next game in August.</div></li><li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Nose bleed seats are good seats. We could see all of the action from there. The next game we will be down by the field - it will be interesting to see which vantage point we like better. </div></li><li><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Seeing the soccer field at Soldier Stadium really puts the soccer pitch in perspective to a football field.&nbsp;The soccer field&nbsp;is wider and longer. </div></li></ul><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Everyone is still asleep. We will be getting ready to go to Jellystone after lunch. I have one quick trip to the store for a couple of things that I forgot. I am almost done - hopefully I can get them done tonight. We also ventured over the the mini-golf course and played a round. Good times. <br /><br />Andy has a case of poison ivy on his leg. He also went swimming with friends and his feet are all cut up from Zebra Muscles. He's in rough shape. So we're back to finding our own way. We can't stay overnight because we go on vacation to Yogi on Sunday. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Beth has been skating every night this week for 1 1/2 hours. I thought Andy was going to die of embarrassment. We all thought it was rather creepy. We are all very excited. The weekend looks hot and humid - great Yogi weather. I can't wait to get into the floatie in the pond.&nbsp; This will be our trial run before our week's vacation. Just have to get the&nbsp;&nbsp;dog to the kennel and everything packed in the truck.<br /><br />Beth went ice skating with her friend last night. The ice is back. She starts ice skating lessons next week. She'll have three different lessons this time around - her level 8, Dance and Synchronized. She's also going to join the Synchronized team this year. She's pretty excited.<br /><br />We met with the landscaper last night. Tim and I are so excited with his plan. The entire lawn except around the side/back will be done. We have to wait for&nbsp;the patio to finish that portion. The landscaper had great ideas and some different plants. The best part is we are on their schedule while we are on vacation. So we'll leave for the week and come back to a new yard. <br /><br />My next class starts on Monday. I started looking at the first module. I spent yesterday reading a critique of multiple linear regression. I sent him some money to bring some back for us...YUMMY.<br /><br />Beth is already planning her Birthday. She was bugging me about the plates, etc.so we ordered her party supplies last night. She gets sooo excited. <em>(she gets that from me)</em> At least we will be busy so the time will go fast. We're in the process of finding a day for her friend party that works for everyone. <br /><br />Looks like we are going to Chicago to watch the Chicago Fire Soccer team play Manchester United with Andy's soccer team towards the end of July. Should be fun. I've never been to a professional soccer game. Sounds like the boys get to go on the field. <br /><br />I have to dig more today. We're getting the bricks tomorrow - so hopefully we can make some good progress on the patio.&nbsp; It's becoming the never-ending project. Tim's first question was "Does this involve more volunteer hours?"&nbsp; She is getting through the Learn to Skate lessons. If she passes her level 8 this summer, she will be in the club. This includes private lessons and ice time. She's excited and looking forward to it. We're a little confused at how it all works. <br /><br />I am finished with my class. The next one doesn't start until mid-July. It will be nice to have a break. <br /><br />Tim has been working a lot lately. I feel bad that he can't get a day off to do something fun. AND our patio isn't getting very far with him working. We also had time to&nbsp;shop and take in the&nbsp;3D version of Pirates. Then we met the team at a Mexican restaurant for supper. It was 8:00 when we got there and shortly after taking our orders the lights went out. The storm was interesting with all of the rain and lightening. Even in the dark, they still served us.&nbsp;The kids thought it was cool to eat in the pitch black.&nbsp; Since it was so late, we were really the only ones in the restaurant. It seems like we've been really busy. I was worried that we didn't have a lot planned for the summer, but somehow it just fills up. Fun that we've had this week:<br /><br /><ul><li>I had lunch on the patio at Anchor Bay with work ladies on Tuesday. What a nice time and some good gossip. </li><li>I won at Poker night and Beth won candy at Bingo.&nbsp;Plus she got to stay out until 11:00 pm. </li><li>Andy scored two goals at his game last night and they won 7 -2 in a very rainy game. </li><li>Andy's soccer camp ends this afternoon. </li><li>Beth is excited to have a friend over today. I feel like it&nbsp; has been about Andy's soccer lately so it is nice for her to have a day about her and her friends. </li><li>Andy has had a number of sleepovers and is having fun with friends.</li><li>Our hole is dug so we can start putting rocks down for the patio. HOWEVER, the dryer vent needs to be moved - a problem I am told. </li><li>I am one paper away from completing my second class - I think I'll get that done today. </li><li>Kids helped scrub the floors yesterday - I love that they are big enough to help and like to.<em> (Don't know how long that will last)</em></li><li>Went to the library to sign up for their kid/teen reading program. The kids were excited to read yesterday. She was one healthy girl this school year.&nbsp; She also got math and art awards.&nbsp; Andy is now included in the "gifted and talented" art program as well as academics. He was a little perplexed at that - but good for him. We celebrated with Dairy Queen Blizzards. YUMMY! Like'n the mocha chip mini blizzard - in case you need a recommendation. <br /><br />We watched Kyle play a few innings yesterday. It was good to see him play and Andy thought it was cool that he was playing on the Rafter's field. He had a great hit!!<br /><br />I just have a quick paper to write and then I'll be done with my class. That will make two under my belt. I was nervous about this and it feels good to know that I can do it. This time next year I will be half way - Hmmm - somehow that should sound better.<br /><br />Tim and I have been digging our hole. I got on the scale and only lost two pounds. OK - that is two in the right direction. My clothes are fitting better, so maybe I am toning as well. However, I'm lunching with the ladies and drinking with the book club tonight. We'll have to go again. <br /><br />Tim and I are in the planning stages of our deck and landscaping. The landscaper is coming on Tuesday afternoon to give us some ideas. He received a leadership award. However, it wasn't anything that a DQ blizzard couldn't cure. <br /><br />Beth is celebrating Wisconsin's birthday today.&nbsp; She took a big cookie that had Happy Birthday Wisconsin for the party. She's easy to please. <br /><br />Tim worked last night. He's off until Monday now. I can't remember the last time I had for that. <br /><br />The kids got their hair cut yesterday afternoon. Beth looks really cute - however she is ornery that I cut her hair. She also had little sleep because of the birthday party. We went the the paper museum, the cheese factory and a dairy farm. Some time was spent in a park for lunch. That time could have been shortened - especially when one boy was bitten, two were hurt and the kids were starting to melt down.&nbsp; However, we came home with a cooler full of cheese!<br /><br />It feels good to be done with work for the summer. OK - that is truly a misnomer since I will be teaching an online class and taking a couple of classes myself. However, I don't have to physically go into work so it feels like I am not working. Can you hear the sigh?<br /><br />I have a spa day planned next week with the ladies. Lunch, massage and dessert - just too good to be true.&nbsp; First I have to take Andy to Chippewa Falls for his soccer games tomorrow. I also have to find time to clean this house. I hope I don't get anybody "dropping" by - the house needs a good hosing down. <br /><br />So enjoy the weekend everyone. Bummer - Andy spent that last two days at friend's house. Beth had a friend over here. They've had a pretty good spring break. Friends, Yogi Bear and new iPod touches.&nbsp; Not a bad staycation. Mid-week I was annoyed that we were&nbsp; home.&nbsp; But I'm finally in the groove now. We'll be counting down the days to summer. If only the weather would cooperate.<br /><br />I spent the week trying to get back into shape. I rediscovered Yoga because our Treadclimber blew up.&nbsp; I also discovered that the Bowflex is again my friend. More importantly, I am starting to see signs that this stuff is working.&nbsp;&nbsp;I need to get back into shape so that my summer clothes fit. Six weeks until summer - I can do this.<br /><br />We were watching a movie last night where a girl got 16 wishes on her 16th birthday.&nbsp; Beth said that her wish would be to have her room clean all of the time. Huh - that's my wish too. She definately does NOT have the clean gene.<br /><br />Tim had to work all weekend. His birthday is Tuesday. He already has his present. We're having the builder come back to fix the drywall/trusses on Tuesday and Beth has skating all night. It won't be a big birthday bash by any means. Tim is back to work today. The kids and I are going to the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" this afternoon. That is - if they clean their rooms. I asked Beth if her room was clean and she said "yes". I followed that up by "If I go into your room, will I be mad because it is not clean?"&nbsp; She doesn't even miss a beat and says, "Yeah, I'm 99% sure".&nbsp; My threats about not going to the movie if rooms aren't clean don't even seem to&nbsp;phase her. <br /><br />I finished my first class in my PhD program. It feels good that I can actually do this. Then I opened the next class that starts in a couple of weeks and looked at the amount of reading and thought - "<em>whose idea was this?</em>"&nbsp; Somehow, I get in the groove and it works out. The nice thing is that I will only be working through half this semester. I can concentrate the last three modules without having to juggle work. <br /><br />Snow is coming tomorrow. Doesn't God know that it is Spring? This is defined as buds on the trees, birds chirping in the sky and no more boots, mittens and winter coats. I guess he didn't get the memo.<br /><br />So it's time to clean up the house. I'm sure there will be a couple mean games of Phase 10 or Mexican train this afternoon. We played Connect Four by Four yesterday and Tim and Andy won every round. We read the Hunger Games books. They were really good. Andy has finished them as well. Beth's friends were also here. I'm not sure if I can really call her part "book club". None of the girls seem to read the book they pick. Next month is our Poker night. That should be fun. <br /><br />Beth had a friend over today to work on their science fair board. The science fair isn't until April, but the girls were excited. I thought they might as well get it done early.&nbsp;They are doing the "jumping coin". &nbsp;She is at a birthday party sleepover tonight. Andy's friends are all busy so he's stuck home the the 'rents. He has a project for science on Viking I. So he did some work on that. <br /><br />Tim is working all weekend, so I'm in charge of the running. Beth has ice show pictures tomorrow. After&nbsp;she's done, I'm running Andy to soccer. (I have five minutes between events for travel) When he's done I'm running Beth to ice skating practise. It'll be quite the afternoon. <br /><br />I need to carve time out to work on my class. I missed class because of Thursday's book club.&nbsp; I know - I sound like my students. BUT there is a big difference - I'm pulling an A. Beth and I went to Disney on Ice this weekend. It was a fun show. We stopped in Appleton on the way home to shop. It's nice that she's old enough to do these types of things. They spent the day in the woods cutting down tress and building fires. <br /><br />Andy had an indoor soccer tournament. (Most of it not appropriate for print)<br /><br />If you are not familiar with that Walker and the republicans want to do - he wants to disband all unions in the public sector. This would include all bargaining except for pay for not only teachers, but correction officers, nurses, etc.&nbsp; The pay increases would be limited to inflation but benefits can decrease at his discretion.&nbsp; And the list goes on and on...<br /><br />You can follow this in all of its glory from the <a href="http://host.madison.com/wsj/">Wisconsin State Journal. </a><br /><br />And for those of you in the private sector who are or are not unionized - this will also affect you. An economist from <a href="http://host.madison.com/ct/business/biz_beat/article_bbc41e88-388c-11e0-87d9-001cc4c002e0.html">UW- Madison</a> predicts this will affect the private businesses up to $111 billion worth.&nbsp; Not to mention increasing the brain drain that already exists. <br /><br />Like things weren't bad enough - we have an idiot making the decisions now. I have a sinus infection. I dropped Beth off at school today and then went to the walk-in clinic. <br /><br />I gave the doctor my symptoms and he tells me that I haven't suffered long enough. I really should be suffering up to TEN days before he would be comfortable giving me medicine. REALLY! Now just to set the stage, I am clearly not feeling well, with my head throbbing, my face puffy, and have been up all night with a sinus headache. I could look like the Wal-Mart class at this point - I do get that. But I was clean and do have all of my teeth. <br /><br />To top it all off, he tells me that the last time I was in for antibiotics was TWO years ago. Now, let's recap:<br /><br />A. If I was in this for the abuse of antibiotics or selling it on the street, I'm clearly not very good at this. <br /><br />B. What is the risk of getting me on the stuff if I am only asking for it every two years? <br /><br />I can see why this guy is stuck in the walk-in clinic and not part of the real clinic.<br /><br />&nbsp;So I explain to him that I have sinus issues and the ENT that I have seen in the past told me to get medicine at the first signs of an infection. He looks at me and looks at me. (This guy is really a piece of work) He THEN decides to give me a lecture on having a primary care physician who would know this. <br /><br />So let’s recap:<br /><br />&nbsp;A. REALLY. What good is a walk in clinic if I should be seeing a primary care physician? <br /><br />B. If I am seeing my physician every two years – how well do they know me anyway?<br /><br />C. AND do you think I am in the mood for a lecture???? <br /><br />D. SHOULDN’T he be happy that I live a good lifestyle where I don't need a primary care physician on a regular basis? I am doing MY part to keep health care costs low. I should be given a medal not a lecture. <br /><br />&nbsp;So, I did get my medicine and I am happily on the stuff that will let me go back to work tomorrow. We need to get the food and drinks ready.The Packer shirts are&nbsp;in the wash from our Packer party on Friday. &nbsp;Should be a good game. It'll be even more fun if the Packers win.<br /><br />I just finished the majority of our tax prep.&nbsp; I'm just waiting for one more thing. Looks like we're going to get a refund.&nbsp; It's nice to know that we don't owe the government any more money.<br /><br />I've successfully completed 1/3 of my class. We are off in an hour to Jellystone for another day of swimming.&nbsp; Good times... Good times..<br /><br />Andy was also invited to a waterpark overnight from Thursday to Friday. We had to say no. Really - he was at the waterpark all last weekend and he's going again today.&nbsp; He wasn't thrilled - it took him some crabby time to get over it.<br /><br />Both kids had GREAT report cards.&nbsp; It's good to see them excel in school.&nbsp; I also got great grades on my first assessments. Only five more modules to go for this first class.&nbsp; <br /><br />I can't believe how fast this semester is going.
