Going Green - REALLY?

We got a message from the registrar’s office today . They are not generating paper copies of our final grade rosters. Instead they want us to go GREEN and file them electronically.

So let me get this straight – we are going GREEN by not using paper.(The paper, BTW – that Nekoosa makes. The same mill that is laying off 500+ employees in our area) Instead we will use many electronic devices that are powered by ELECTRICITY which is generated by large amounts of COAL! (Carbon emissions anyone?) At this rate, with companies using this philosophy to go green, the ice caps will increase their melting rate.

On another note, I was told yesterday that I am like a garbage can. Everything goes in and I stir it up and make compost. This was related to using new technology. Believe it or not, it was a great compliment once it was explained. I was a little nervous at first when she started out with "You are like a garbage can....". My kids had a field day with that last night at the supper table. They were almost falling down laughing at that scenario.

Everyone cross your fingers. Beth is sharing today. She is going to perform a magic trick to her class. She was practicing this morning and doing it well. Both kids were having fun last night trying to do magic.

Big soccer game tonight - the one that got canceled during the crazy cold on Saturday. It is supposed to be 57 degrees and sunny. Good call coaches!!!
