What a day.
We started out on Andy's field trip. Our first stop was the Paper Museum - which happened to be in Stanton Mead's home. Our tour guide - George Mead. So we not only learned about paper, but got a tour of the house. They showed us around the house. I stayed in the dining room for awhile to talk to George (we're on first name basis in my head) about growing up in the house. It was sooo fascinating. He talked about where his bedroom was, where the Christmas tree was. He showed me the Gargoyles in the wood work and carved lions. They found the original light fixtures and had them put back in. It was like a little piece of living history. I can't say I was a good chaperon on that part of the trip - I couldn't give up the opportunity to talk with him.
We then moved on to Rudolph for lunch at a park and then the Cheese Factory. I had to bug out at 1:00 for Beth's program. I missed the Dairy Farm but heard from the parents on the trip that the kids were mostly excited about the cows pooping. The louder the kids got, the more the cows pooped. Glad I missed it.
For Beth's program, she was was in a play - which I taped. However, some VERY large ladies sat in the front row. Therefore, I didn't' get a good shot. However, I did get some good shots of her songs- Here is one in two parts:
Then we had to hurry home to get Andy to his first tournament game. He played Uncle Jim's grandson. Aunt Shirley, Uncle Jim, Cousin Mike and Sarah sat on the bleacher with me. Jim thought they'd win because they beat us when we played during the regular season. It was a really good game, but our team came out ahead - 13 - 9. Andy did well. He also got to steal twice -which was his highlight. We now play again tomorrow night.
