It looks like we have taken back a weekend. We don't have any running today. We plan on getting some bushes for the front of our house and then the kids want friends over to play.
I need to go through my summer clothes to see what I have for my trip. I am planning on doing some shopping down there. I desperately need new sandals and a new swim suit. I image they have a better selection in Orlando than we do here.
I am also hoping to get some color while I'm down there. We have a READ program that our MSTC library wants to adopt. This entails taking a picture of me with a favorite book. Then they'll hang the picture up for all to see for years to come. Being that I am so photogenic (UGH) I need all of the help I can get.
I haven't mentioned the holey cards yet. At school the kids have math table cards called "Holey Cards". They are essentially math fact cards. Andy has to do the calculations under 2 minutes. He has been successful multiple times. The exciting news came from Beth's attempt. She completed one in 2:18. Being in third grade and almost matching the 5th and 6th grade marker is pretty impressive. Andy claims there aren't that many students in his grade that have done it. She's such a smarty pants. Her grades this quarter have really improved.
Andy's math is getting harder. His able learning program sent me to the Internet for help. I think I'd better brush up on my Algebraic formulas. However, they are teaching these kids about money and finance - right up my alley. Seeing the crazy predicaments my students get themselves into, I'm glad he is learning how to be fiscally responsible.
BTW - looking for a good movie, Sandlot and Sandlot II have been big hits at our house. Found them in the $5 bin at Wal-Mart. Good baseball movies for kids.
