Two Weeks from Today

Classes end two weeks from today. I feel like my step is a little more bouncy and my load a little lighter.

I had my picture taken for the READ project this morning. (Examples of other schools) My book was the Da Vinci Code. I think it will be kind of cool. I have a feeling, however, that this is the picture they will drag out 17 year from now at my retirement with some sort of defacing.

The kids have portfolio night tonight. They are super excited. It is fun to see what they've accomplished. Although I'm there every morning and see most of it. But Tim hasn't.

We had the landscapers come out last night. He had a lot of good ideas. However, they cost a lot as well. We've agreed to take it in pieces. It'll be nice to have a plan. We want to focus on the front of the house first - we need to get rid of our red-neck garden.

Back to the kids - I have noticed that my kids are growing. Maybe it was being gone for five days, but they are not babies anymore. Sigh....Although it is fun to see them grown into their own. Andy tries to act more grown up, but then bolts from the living room chair and starts to skip down the hallway. I hope he doesn't loose that sense of fun. Beth goes to school with her hair all ratty, but she has a beautiful headband and matching ear rings. It's her look.

Wait until they are 18 and want to get a tattoo and a motorcyle. Then those "bratty" days seem like nothing.
