How many more days?

I am counting down until the end of the year. This year has been bad - can't wait to see the end of 2009-2010 school year. Only four 1/2 weeks to go.

I'm off to Orlando next week. It will be nice to get out of Dodge. Some sunshine would be nice. Then I'll be on the downhill slide.

Beth encountered her first "mean girl" incident this weekend. One of her friends had a birthday party and didn't invite her. She was upset - Tim and I were angry. One of the parents is a fifth-grade teacher - you'd think he would know better. So we hugged her a lot. There isn't much we can do. She needs to handle it herself. It happens to everyone at one time or another. How you handle it makes you stronger. I'm glad she has a lot of self esteem and that has seen her through.

Tim worked all weekend so I got the brunt of Andy being grounded. Let's just say he wasn't thrilled. It didn't help that his friend called on Friday night for him to sleep over and then go fishing. Of course it was MY fault he couldn't go.

I'm on my "let's get fit for summer" campaign. I have been working out diligently - it's just the eating that is my problem. It's always been my problem.

So if anyone has any suggestions on how to get your kids to stop fighting - let me know. They are driving me crazy!!! We are in a "poking" "pushing" "yelling" phase.
